Risk management
Risk management is part of Apex Management GP's corporate governance and covers identification, assessment, monitoring, reporting and risk mitigation measures.
What risks the fund or transaction assumes. We identify the nature and source of risk before it becomes part of the investment decision.
Materiality and potential impact. We assess the potential impact of risk on the investment, the fund and strategy execution.
How risk changes after the investment decision. We monitor key risk factors and changes that may affect investment execution.
Measures, escalation and management information. Where necessary, we take corrective action and escalate material matters to the appropriate level of governance.
COMPLIANCE
Client due diligence and compliance
Apex Management GP applies customer due diligence (CDD), know-your-customer (KYC) procedures and anti-money-laundering / counter-terrorist-financing (AML/CTF) measures in accordance with applicable AIFC requirements and the company's internal documents.
Identification and verification of the client or counterparty. The review is conducted to the applicable extent, taking into account the nature of the relationship and company requirements.
Anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing measures. Control procedures are embedded in the process of engaging with clients and counterparties.
Verification of recipient status before providing certain materials. Additional identification is applied where necessary for controlled access to information.
Conflicts of interest
Conflicts of interest
The company takes reasonable steps to identify conflicts between the company, employees and clients, as well as between clients. Depending on the circumstances, a conflict is prevented, managed or disclosed so that client interests are not adversely affected.
Identify the parties and source of a potential conflict. We record circumstances in which the interests of the parties may conflict.
Separate functions or restrict the involvement of the interested person. We select management measures based on the nature of the conflict and the roles of the interested parties.
Disclose the conflict when required. Disclosure is used as one of the conflict-management tools where required.
